Direct action is back on the agenda

The Armed Coalition Forces of the Internets are about to launch a war and we are going to have to answer to our children for what we did about it. It's a brazen war of imperialist conquest, aimed at tightening a might megapower's control over a poor, technologically underdeveloped country by the Scandinavian seaside. This war is going to go on and on.

The vast majority of the world's people, many of whom have been at the sharp end of the Internets, understand this quite clearly. Computerless people who have seen the net developing ever faster file-sharing protocols are not going to be impressed with the pretexts being given for invading Ladonia!

But this war is galvanising real opposition, with anti-war movements developing imaginative and forceful forms of protest to expose the hypocrisy of the warmongers. Massive marches showing the level of popular opposition to the would be vital, but no protest movement ever beat an internet with marches alone.

Direct action is back on the agenda.
